Fireproof Your Marriage

Dan and I had a nice little get-away to Daytona this past Friday and Saturday. We went with 10 other couples from our church to the "Fireproof Your Marriage" Conference. The speakers were Gary Smalley, Ted Cunningham and the team from Sherwood Baptist Church (Alex and Stephen Kenrick, Michael Catt) These are the guys that produced the movies "Fireproof" and "Facing the Giants". It was great!

Some pics...

Do you remember the opposing coach, Bobby Lee? He's actually one of the pastors at Sherwood! Here we are with Gary Smalley. He and Ted Cunningham wrote a book about (shhh...(sex))

Civil Air Patrol at MacDill

Our CAP squadron spent the weekend at MacDill Air Force Base from Friday night on through Sunday helping to make the Air Fest 2009 a success! Daniel had a great time.
Here he is with his buddy, Levi.

These are the Thunderbirds...they were awesome.

Jaret on Piano at Church

Difficult to locate Jaret...he's on the left under the word "Worship" on the piano. He was really looking forward to this night, he practiced hard and I think he really enjoyed it. Good job, Jaret!

Running and Flying!

Falling way behind on life's events! A couple of weeks ago, Daniel went with Civil Air Patrol to fly in a small plane. This was his first time up so he was a little nervous, but he had a great time anyway! He even had the chance to fly the plane for a few minutes! I think all the cadets are going to have the opportunity to fly every month! Glider flights are even on the schedule. Very cool.

Track season is in full swing again! Daniel just clocked his best mile time(5:09) at the last meet in Crystal River.

Puzzle Fun

Jaret loves the 3-D puzzles. We found this one at the thrift store for a buck. He looks a little overwhelmed in this picture...
...so maybe this will help.

Things are coming along nicely...

Ethan pitched in to help!

oooh....now it's starting to take shape!
Time + Patience=Success!

Happy Birthday, Daniel!

It's funny. We celebrate a birthday in the family every month from October through February! This time, it's Daniel's 15th!! This cake is really supposed to say, "You gotta win this one for us, Danny!" But I thought that was a little too much to ask of the Walmart lady. The quote goes back to Daniel's middle school track days where there was this cute little guy on the team that would shout that out when Daniel was on the start line.
After chocolate cake, two things that are close to his heart....
Gator football and candy!

Cinderella's Closet

I've been having some fun for a couple of days creating a blog for Cinderella's Closet! If you haven't yet heard, this is a ministry of our church, Cornerstone Baptist Church. In a nutshell, girls who can't afford a Prom dress can come and pick out a dress for free! And these dresses are gorgeous! People from all over donate dresses, shoes, bags, and accessories for any girl in need. Folks are also available to help with hair, nails and make-up the day of Prom.

The dates for the 2-Day Give-Away Event are:
March 6th - 3-7pm
March 7th - 10am-6pm

Location: Cornerstone Baptist Church
1005 Hillside Court
Inverness, FL

Donations are needed! Dresses, shoes, bags, jewelry, and accessories!

If would like to make a donation, please visit http://www.citruscinderellas.blogspot.com/ to find a Drop Off Location near you!

Thank you!

Happy 19th Birthday, Barisha Kaylene Gandee!

I just can't believe it!

I got nuthin!!!

I haven't posted a thing for almost a month! It seems when there aren't any "events" going on or pics to take, nothing gets posted! But as I think back over the past month, it seems to me that it was just as full and hectic as any other!
We've been busy schooling, reading great books, Youth Group and church stuff, dentist appointments, making an office for Dad in the bedroom and my personal favorite, trying to count in base 4, 8, and 12 instead of base 10!! That was crazy but we we figured it out!
We did have a sad event take place a few weeks ago. We had to put our dog, Lady, to sleep. She's the one in the bottom left corner of the "critters".
On a lighter note, GoodReads.com has had a lot of my attention. It's a fun site where you can make a list of all the books you've read, are reading or intend to read. You can read or write a reviews, rate your books, invite friends to swap titles with, but most of all...waste time sitting on the computer when you know there's laundry that needs to be done.
I haven't taken one picture during the month of January!! What in the world is going on!? I need to rectify that ASAP...

Parental Rights

From: ParentalRights.org
"Imagine a place where the government threatens parents with fines, or even jail time, if they refuse to vaccinate their children - all in the name of “watching out” for the best interests of “its” children. Imagine a country that permits doctors to terminate the lives of “deficient” children up to a year old, even without parental consent, for the sake of “a better society”. To find such a place, you need look no further than the nation of Belgium." Read the rest of this entry »
